one problem with new classes that i can forsee is that by using the two professions thing you already have access to a paladin, a blackguard and most of these 'new' ideas.
no assassins or bloody rogues.
i rather like the Lycanthrope idea. not really a profession per say but it is kinda like the shapechanger idea without insane flexability. you become a wolf (or a rat or a bear or a tiger...). no over flexability. good.

Mmhm if I see any form of ninja/thief/rogue I'm gonna puke.
I've brought this up before somewhere a while ago, but I'm hoping they add a ton of monster skills into the game and do some sort of blue mage (yes I know, no spectral agony) that can copy 'em. Yeah I know it's VERY unlikely, but it'd be cool

Agreed. If I see Ninja come out it will be bad enough. I'll break down

What about a Mimic, he doesn't acutally have any skills that do anything but copy his oppenents or allies actions.

You would unmake Pvp in a day. Good idea though.

I think we could see a potion/chemical/wizard type of class. He gathers materials from Tyria to make custom potions etc.

I think a rogue assasin type fits in very well. Just delete the entire mesmer proffesion to make room that would make me happy.

I don't really care what they put in. But I want one-handed bows. Seriously.
Everyone else has 1 handers, show the rangers some love.

An alchemist? I would see greater potential if the materials were "unlocked" and the casting were based on elements mixed or combined....but the "casting" would look something like a wizard furiously mixing a martini and throwing a molitov crocktail [edited, because without the r in crocktail, it was censored]...he'd do great in PvP as opponents stopped to watch and laugh...then foom! For a more traditional RPG I think it would have some potential, but I can't see how it would work in GW without some way to augment what it "reality" would be a butt-load of preparation (for the European readers, I'm refering to a standard butt-load, not the metric butt-load, which we all know is only .67 times as large).
I've read suggestions about being able to play as some of the npc classes...ie, undead, mursaat and the like, but I think seeing these characters trying to develop as part of the story of Tyria, wandering around pre-searing Ascelon would be just plain stupid...no offense to the suggesters (after all, playing these characters would have some entertainment value, just wouldn't fit the story).
I would hate to see characters that couldn't start their lives in pre-searing Ascelon. Some might disagree, but even though it might be repetative to go through the same map for a fifth or sixth time, you wouldn't know how your new character stacked up against the previous classes without putting them through the same tests...
Not that I don't appreciate some of the humor in this thread, but I'd like to see more serious thought put to this topic. I mean some of you are just being immature and dumb...I mean really...the whole Triangle Man thing....kinda dumb and a waste of space...especially since you haven't even mentioned "Captain Rhombus and Line Boy" given their history in the great Geomet Chronicals (issue 127...episode 4), it should be noted that without Line Boy, Triangle Man would be nothing....I mean really.

While I get your attempt at humor, you fail to understand the refference, and thus lose

If there are not rogues, I will stab someone. I have yet to see a good reason against them. Ninjas? No. Those don't fit at all. Rogues? YES.
Or at least something I can feel roguish using. Rogues have virtually nothing to do with mesmers, or rangers, so don't give me that.

how about something similar to the bard, something that is nto a damage dealer, but uses lots of shouts and songs. adn the party is rewarded with moral bonuses and temporary boosts of attirbutes or soemthing like that,
we need a class that provokes team work, and incorperates other classes, so its still "guild" wars, not "Warriors, monks and Ele" wars
